Is knowing to mark up a quote in a <figure> with a <blockquote> tag and <figcaption>, and not make it a random heading (that happens to have the same styles) the line between a senior and junior developer?I wrote a 9-page dev brief for a project and going through the deliverable is painful. It wasn't enough – apparently, I need to make it longer…What do you need to do to find a dev that gets basic HTML? I feel like I just need to start a BootCamp for #WordPress devs.#a11y

Read more »We're working on a job description for a plugin developer for Equalize Digital Accessibilty Checker. This will be the first time we have hired someone to work exclusively on our product and not do client work which is an exciting milestone, but I also wonder how different of a skill set we should look for. More backend than front-end, I imagine.Anyone have any examples #wordpress #developer job descriptions from a product company or tips for hiring?

Read more »Read and comment on my proposal to make events from topic-based meetups (like WordPress Accessibility Meetup) visible in the #WordPress admin Events and News dashboard widget worldwide (rather than only showing them in a small radius around San Francisco). Getting the #WPA11yMeetup events to show in everyone's WordPress dashboard is an import step to increasing accessibility awareness and getting more people to think about #a11y.
