Read more »This is a bit sub-Tooty but it needs saying.There are an AWFUL lot of people in #WordPress who are still happily building with mostly PHP. Many of these are using ACF blocks to circumvent needing to deal with React and complex, fragile build tooling.I have no evidence (yet) that there’s a mass of people who transitioned to native blocks.These people are, IMO, a quiet majority of WordPress coders who keep WordPress at work, but whose needs are often forgotten.

Read more »The #WordPress Gutenberg Phase 3 announcement is very interesting for me.Why?Because it will be disruptive for my Turbo Admin product.An admin redesign (especially if done in React) may make Turbo Admin impossible to run.Fortunately they are also considering adding their own "global search & command component" so Turbo Admin may no longer be needed (this is a GOOD thing!)They also want to refine list tables, which I'm currently working on enhancing!https://make.wordpress.org/core/2023/03/24/phase-3-collaboration/

Read more »Working on Turbo Admin's keyboard shortcuts for #WordPress list-table navigation. Got the action links working! There's even shortcuts to focus the search input and to do pagination!!Not guaranteed to work everywhere, but hopefully nice for some keyboard warriors!

Read more »I’m watching the #WordPress 6.2 product demo and wondering: what even IS WordPress now?The database structure and dashboard are kinda redundant at this point.It’s not clear where themes and plugins fit in.It’s a whole new piece of software.So why not just start again with a lighter-weight back end?

An issue open for “Quick search for jumping to other pages or templates in the editor." in #WordPress.https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/48457I mean, it won't be as good as https://turbo-admin.com/ 😉, but having something like this in core will be an amazing step forward, and one I FULLY support. 🙌🚀

Hopefully it's improvements all around.Another update is coming soon to fix a few things that you hopefully don't notice right now. Then it's FEATURES!!What features would you love in the #WordPress dashboard?
