We’ll see a WHOLE lot of this. The availability of more cheap “half decent” content will mean Google will *have* to double down on EEAT. Which means that your content needs to be *actually* good, instead of just “looking good”. Simple enough, if you’re not trying to fake it.

On a related note the more I work with Full-Site Editing, the more I see established patterns still being useful. They just need adapting to the new tools and workflows. There’s this “FSE will makes themes obsolete” idea. Won’t happen.

Version 1.13.2 of the plugin version of Turbo Admin (my command-palette for #WordPress) is out, inheriting the enhancements from the latest version of the extension.

Any Query Loop block gurus around? Read/watched plenty of docs/tutorials on customizing the Query Loop block in the editor, but is there a way to customize it on the frontend too? i.e. Add a dropdown to allow a user to select a post category. #wordpress #gutenberg

Just tested a new block via the @wordpress/create-block script, added support for align controls and all of them apply to the block as expected. No custom CSS needed. I think the Gutenberg docs could be updated just to make this clear. #wordpress

I’m building complex pages with multiple custom queries and lots of dynamic content using @KadenceWP Blocks 3.0. It’s near perfect every time on a STAGING server.

What does everybody look for in Query Monitor to determine why a page is loading slowly? I have WP admin pages taking 15+ seconds and I can’t tell why.

Seems like #WebDesign articles are aimed at experienced professionals. Not this one! Here’s some advice to those of you who are just starting your journey.

I wish people stopped building WordPress block libraries and built blocks instead. Embrace the block directory. The WordPress ecosystem doesn’t need more plugin behemoths.

Yes, even WordPress 5.6 to 6.1 are in “beta support” for PHP 8.0. It’s still PHP 7.4 that WordPress is fully compatible with.

It’s not just WordPress dot com causing confusion. We combine our documentation for multiple users – developers, those working in the CMS as an employee, those using it as an agency, etc. I don’t think it’s a fair comparison because no other FOSS does this.

WordPress powers nearly half the web, and is finally getting all the powerful site building tools that creators have come to expect from a CMS. But the positioning, marketing, developer experience + relations have virtually never matched the capability of the software.

I love this color palette structure & names from @KadenceWP . Adopting these in my own custom themes.
